About this event
Javelina Jundred is the original costumed 100-mile desert party, run on the rolling singletrack of McDowell Mountain Regional Park near Fountain Hills, Arizona, over Halloween weekend. The famous "washing machine" loop format (one 22.3-mile loop plus four 19.45-mile loops on the Pemberton, Shallmo, and Cinch Trails) brings every runner back through Javelina Jeadquarters about every 20 miles, so crews can watch the whole race unfold without driving anywhere.
Costumes are not just welcome, they are the culture. The race is rated R for explicit music and risque costumes: an adult celebration in the desert that goes well beyond a typical ultra. The 100 Mile is a Western States Golden Ticket race and a WSER qualifier, with automatic bids for the top two men and top two women.
