I wish to enter and participate in Race The Cog, held August 28, 2027 on Mount Washington, New Hampshire. I accept the rules, conditions and regulations of this event and will comply with them, along with the instructions of race officials. I have sufficiently trained to participate in this event and am in good health. I am capable of making rational decisions and judgments for my own safety and welfare.
I understand that trail running is a strenuous physical activity with inherent and unknown risks, including serious injury, illness and death. These include, but are not limited to, falls on steep, rocky, technical and uneven terrain including boulder fields above treeline, sudden and extreme mountain weather including cold, high wind, rain, snow, fog and lightning, exposure, dehydration, the operating Cog Railway and its trains next to the course, wildlife and insects, the actions of other participants and spectators, vehicle traffic, and the remoteness of parts of the course from aid. I understand that I must stay on the marked course. Knowing these risks, I freely and voluntarily accept them and agree to be solely responsible for my participation.
In consideration of the acceptance of my entry, I, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, successors and assigns, waive, release and discharge Race The Cog, Aravaipa Running LLC and its DBAs including White Mountain Endurance, the Mount Washington Cog Railway and its owners and operators, the State of New Hampshire and its Division of Parks and Recreation (Mount Washington State Park), all other landowners and land managers whose property the course crosses, USA Track & Field, RaceGoat and Dead Reckoning Labs, Inc., all official sponsors, and the affiliates, officers, directors, members, employees, agents, volunteers, medical personnel, successors and assigns of each of them, from any and all rights, claims, demands and causes of action, including for negligence, for injury, illness, death or damage to me or my property, arising out of or in connection with my participation in this event and any pre-race and post-race activities. I further agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless each of them against all claims, demands and causes of action, including court costs and attorneys' fees, brought by me or on my behalf contrary to this agreement. This release extends to all claims of every kind, whether known or unknown.
I consent to evaluation and treatment by the event's medical team, and to transport to an emergency facility if they believe I need it, at my own expense. I agree that race officials may remove me from the race and related activities if, in their judgment, it is in my best interest or the event's.
I will not let anyone else use my registration or race bib, and I will not wear a bib registered to someone else.
I grant the event, its organizers and their licensees the perpetual, worldwide right to use my name, likeness, voice, photographs, video and results, and any statements I make about my participation, in any media for any legitimate purpose, including promotion and advertising, without payment to me.
If the entrant is under 18 years of age, I am the entrant's parent or legal guardian, I agree to all of the above on the entrant's behalf and my own, and I understand that I am responsible for the entrant's supervision, health and welfare throughout the event.
Race entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you withdraw, you may receive a race credit according to the Aravaipa Running Refund & Transfer Policy at aravaiparunning.com/refund-transfer-policy.
I have read this agreement, understand that I am giving up substantial rights by signing it, and sign it voluntarily.
One last look. Filing gives you your entry code, holds your price and any coupon or credit for 30 days, and emails you the form with instructions.
Sign on the line with the quill. One dip holds about a first name, so keep the inkwell handy. Mind the drips.
