Arizona 50K Races

Arizona's 50K races cover almost every kind of course the state has. Most are in the Desert Runner Trail Series, including Pass Mountain at Usery Mountain, McDowell Mountain Frenzy, San Tan Scramble and Mesquite Canyon at White Tank Mountain Regional Park. For a point-to-point day, the Crown King Scramble climbs from the shore of Lake Pleasant to the old mining town of Crown King, and the Black Canyon 50K runs on the Sunday of race weekend in February, finishing in Black Canyon City. The Tucson Marathon adds a road 50K on a net-downhill course from Biosphere 2 toward Oro Valley. In summer, the Adrenaline, Stunner and Jangover night runs each offer a 50K, and Big Pine in Flagstaff runs one through the ponderosa pines of Fort Tuthill County Park in June.
