Races at McDowell Mountain Regional Park

McDowell Mountain Regional Park, north of Fountain Hills, hosts more Aravaipa races than any other park in Arizona. The Javelina Jundred and its Jackass 31K night race take over the Pemberton Trail on Halloween weekend, based at Javelina Jeadquarters in the Four Peaks staging area. McDowell Mountain Frenzy in December offers 5 miles to 50 miles: the 50K is a single loop that dips into the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, and the 50 Mile climbs to Thompson Peak. Mayhem Night Trail runs the same evening from the Competitive Track area. In the hot months the park hosts two Insomniac night races, Adrenaline in May and Jangover in September, with distances up to 75K. Expect rolling desert singletrack and sandy washes with views of the McDowell Mountains.
