Phoenix Area Ultramarathons

Ultramarathons within 30 miles of downtown Phoenix range from desert trail 50Ks to six days on a loop. The Javelina Jundred runs its 100 Mile and 100K on the Pemberton Trail at McDowell Mountain Regional Park on Halloween weekend, and the 100 Mile is a Western States Golden Ticket race. Every Desert Runner Trail Series stop at Cave Creek, Usery, McDowell Mountain and White Tank includes a 50K, and Pass Mountain, Elephant Mountain, Frenzy and Mesquite Canyon add a 50 Mile. Estrella Mountain hosts the Coldwater Hundred in January and Fat Ox in November, which offers 6 to 48 hours on a certified loop and hosts the USATF 24-Hour Championship on November 21. Across The Years in Peoria runs up to six days over New Year. In summer, the Insomniac night series offers 50K to 75K after dark, and Nardini Manor in Buckeye hosts the fixed-time Hotfoot Hamster and Jackrabbit Jubilee.
