About this event

Aspen Backcountry returns on July 31, 2027 with a 50K, a marathon and the "heavy half" marathon, keeping the backcountry marathons going for the local Colorado community. Every distance starts and finishes at Rio Grande Park, next to the Duck Derby fundraiser held each year by the Rotary Club Aspen. We'll see you in Aspen!

Starts are 6:00 AM for the 50K, 7:30 AM for the Marathon and 8:00 AM for the Heavy Half Marathon.

Pitkin County requires every participant to hold a valid CORSAR card on race day, and you must show it at packet pickup to get your bib. A Colorado hunting or fishing license counts the same. The card costs $5 for one year or $20 for five years and funds the search and rescue teams that serve Colorado; buy one online from Colorado Parks and Wildlife at cpwshop.com.
