About this event
Chase the Moon is a 12 hour team relay and solo ultramarathon, run overnight under the light of the full moon in the Highlands Ranch Backcountry trail system, with some of the best views of the metro area and the Front Range. Run solo, or get your fellow moon chasing friends together for a 3 or 5 person relay team.
Every race starts at 7:00 PM on Saturday during a Rocky Mountain sunset, continues through the night beneath the full moon, and finishes at 7:00 AM on Sunday as the sun rises and paints the foothills with alpenglow. The 10.3 mile loop is 98% dirt with about 870 feet of climbing per lap, minimal technical difficulty and wide open views, and you run it counterclockwise with a headlamp. Aid is at Outlaw (mile 4.3) and the start/finish at Mountain Vista High School, where solo runners can set up a tent, chair and cooler.
Choose the 12, 6 or 3 hour solo, the 50K, or a 3 or 5 person 12 hour relay. Don't miss this unique running experience.
