About this event
Get ready for an epic trail adventure in the heart of the San Juan Mountains. The 50K and Marathon (about 26.7 miles) loop follows the historic Alpine Loop jeep roads from Memorial Park in Silverton, past the ghost mining towns of Howardsville, Eureka, Animas Forks and Gladstone. The high point is California Pass at a breathtaking 12,930 feet.
The 8 Miler is an out and back to Howardsville for a taste of the Alpine Loop. Starts are 6:30 AM for the 50K, 7:00 AM for the Marathon and 8:00 AM for the 8 Miler.
The Alpine Loop is open to off highway vehicles on race day, so carry a bandana or neck gaiter and sunglasses for the dust. Stay through Sunday and take on the Kendall Mountain Run too.
