About this event
The Big Woody Rides is a fun and challenging race in Flagstaff's scenic Fort Tuthill County Park. The loop rips around the Highland Trail, climbs on Forest Service roads to the Rogers Trail, then drops back into the park to finish on the Soldier Trail, with the Flagstaff Loop Trail and Rogers Lake Connector along the way. It is an intermediate course with a few technical spots and a good balance of climbing and descending.
Every category rides the same 13.5 mile loop through the Coconino National Forest: as many laps as you can in 6 hours solo or as a duo, two laps for the 27 mile, one lap for the 13.5 mile, and one lap for juniors ages 10 to 14. Adaptive riders race a 12 mile aMTB loop, a modified version of the main course chosen to be challenging yet accessible for adaptive cycles.
The start/finish is by the bike park parking lot, with a fully stocked aid station there every lap and a second one at the turn onto FS 533. Join us for a fun and challenging ride in the pines!
