Arizona Ultramarathons

Arizona ultramarathons run from first 50Ks all the way to the Cocodona 250. The Javelina Jundred runs on a roughly 20-mile course on the Pemberton Trail at McDowell Mountain Regional Park, and its 100 Mile is a Western States Golden Ticket race. Black Canyon Ultras offers a point-to-point 100K and 50K on the Black Canyon National Recreation Trail in February, and the 100K is a Western States qualifier. For a first ultra, every Desert Runner Trail Series stop from October to March includes a 50K. Fixed-time runners have Fat Ox at Estrella Mountain, which hosts the USATF 24-Hour Championship on November 21, and Across The Years in Peoria, which runs up to six days over New Year. Summer ultras move to night starts in the Insomniac series or to the Mogollon Rim in September.
